What Is a VIN Verification?
A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) verification is a physical inspection confirming that the VIN on the vehicle matches its title documents. It is required by many states before registering a newly purchased or out-of-state commercial vehicle.
When Is It Required?
Most states require VIN verification when purchasing a vehicle from another state, when the title is from a different jurisdiction, or when registering a vehicle for the first time. IRP registrations frequently trigger this requirement.
Certified Inspectors.
Our network of certified inspectors performs VIN verifications on-site or at designated locations. Inspectors are authorized by state DMVs to complete the official forms accepted for title transfer and registration.
